The family environment of Javier's is the best. It has been a favorite of mine since I was a child. The food is delicious and comes in generous portions. I have never had a bad meal there. It's also reasonably priced.
My wife and I just ate there. I wouldn't recommend it if you are seeking really good Mexican food. The food is edible but that is about it. The place is small. There were a total of only 4 people working and one of them got there while we were there (at 5:30pm to 6:15pm). While it has been a challenge to find good Mexican food since coming to Utah, this place is at the bottom of the list. We won't be back. Chips served before the meal were stale. The sauce they give you is bland and they don't refill the 1/4 cup they do give you. This place just leaves a whole lot to be desired.
The enchiladas were very good. The rice was bland, and hardly had any seasoning. The frijoles were good and flavorful. I’d give it a 3.5 stars if I could. All in all, it was good.
I have been looking and trying Mexican restaurants in Utah since moving here from Arizona 18 months ago. I cannot believe that it has taken me this long to try Javier’s, however I am so happy I finally did. Great service and even better food! They have multiple salsa options for the chips and salsa... all our amazing. Don’t waste your time driving down to Salt Lake or up to Ogden... this place beats them all!
Every time I go to Javier’s I always have a great experience! The staff is so friendly and kind and the food is very good! I would like to just comment on a review that i read on here. I was at Javier’s when the supposed waiter chased after the gentleman for a tip. That did not happen. The waiter did not chase after him, the guy came back into the building and threw a dollar in his face. The waiter was so calm I couldn’t believe it and you could see on all the other peoples faces that they were very shocked as well. I was going to leave a review on Javier’s Facebook and read another review that the same person wrote. He changed his story around and also made a very inappropriate/racist comment that was very uncalled for. I would recommend this place and the tamales!
