First we called ahead knowing it would be busy. We got there a couple minutes early. We were told 25 minute wait even calling ahead. We were okay with that being busy. We watch several people go back, then people after us started going back. We asked about this and were told we are waiting for a table big enough. (We had 3 adults 2 kids). Okay we understand then groups about our size start going back that were there after us. Then a man comes in asks the hostess for a table she says yeah we can do that we just have to get a table together. 10 minutes later this party of eight is taken back!!! As we ask about this we are completely ignored! As other costumers come up asking if their waiter knows they are there. Worst service ever.
My wife and I went to the Layton Outback on 11/05 around 6 pm. We were pretty excited because we got in and were seated quick. When our waitress came to our table she told us before ordering that they were out of a lot of stuff on there menu, but she didn’t say anything about the special, which we were there for. Then when it came time to order and we asked for the special she told us they were out of it as well. So we left.
We really do love outback but have now learned not to go on Sundays or Holidays.
So I know there are some negatives on here and also some positives. Mine was a little of both. It was my young sons birthday. The waiter was really struggling and we waited for a long time for any type of service. Messed up our order twice, never refilled our drinks and would disappear. Eventually talked the Manager (Ashley) and the whole night changed! She was a rock star and made the night totally great. She went up and beyond to satisfy our night and meal experience! The food was great and tasted amazing. So it started out horrible and ended up awesome thanks the Ashley the manager. Thank you, we will be back!
We also went to the Layton Outback for Valentine’s Day this last year. We got our food super quick which we were really impressed by with how busy it was. Then when we started eating everything was cold. All that we were told is they were sorry. They cook a lot of stuff in advance on Holidays so they can get people in and out fast. Food was still okay just cold. They comped our drinks.
Great food, awesome service, and nice atmosphere! One of the few restaurants that can manage to get a steak well done on the first try.
Outback is usually a great place to eat but this location has some management /menu problems. This location does not honor TV specials, ad deals or coupons. They also don't have a full "outback steak house" menu. If your wanting Outback Steak House food, I'd recommend going to another location. The food was so-so, service was subpar and the manager was less then accommodating, and we love Outback Steak House! We will continue as customers at Outback, just not this location. On the upside, the Blooming Onion was good! Hope this helps, Happy Eats!
